Fund Raising
We continuously accept book donations and maintain a book sale shelf at the library. Stop by anytime the library is open to browse the selection and purchase books. All sales are by donation. Look for our pop-up book sales throughout the year.

Supporting our Library
We provide incentives for the yearly summer and winter library programs to encourage participation, community engagement, and reading! Friends have purchased many needed items for the library such as toys, air purifiers, baby changing table, window shades, and more.
Community Connections
We participate in May Day, National Night Out, Town Trick or Treat, Oroville’s Christmas Tree Lighting, and more. We support the City of Oroville’s Tree City USA status by planning and hosting the annual Arbor Day event with the library.
Projects
Park Cleanup – We continuously work to help the City of Oroville keep Madeline Wells Park clean. It is an ongoing project that volunteers are always needed for.
Front Door
To coincide with the NCW Libraries Reimagining Spaces project, we are relocating the front door for improved access, visibility, and to give additional interior space including room for a private use area inside the library. This relocation will include a new front facade and walkway. Installation will happen before Fall 2026.

Painting
We would love to get a fresh coat of paint on the library as soon as possible!
Park Renovation
With the City’s approval we are working towards improvements to Madeline Wells Park. Our vision includes new play equipment like the multiuser swing we installed in 2024.
What We Do:
The Friends of the Oroville Library support the needs and programs of NCW Libraries’ Oroville Public Library. We provide funding for yearly events such as the Summer Library Program, Arbor Day, Oroville’s Town Trick-or-Treat, and more!
